Lomo LC-A How to Buy
Buying a Lomo is more difficult than it should be. Lomo cameras are not available or imported in any great number so it is rare to see them in camera shops. If you find one in good condition for a decent price (<$150) do not pass it up! In general to buy a Lomo you have 2 options; an online store or Ebay.
Ebay is the best bet believe it or not. You can find Lomos on Ebay here most days. A Lomo LC-A in good condition should go for about $100-$150. Some of the "new in box" type of auctions can go quite a bit higher. Keep in mind that "new in box" does not mean "works". Honestly it is better to buy a camera that the seller claims is working correctly or has been checked by a professional. Check the sellers feedback to make sure you are dealing with a responsible person since the sellers are almost always overseas. Collecting on a deal gone bad will probably not be possible. That said I got my Lomo from Ebay with no problem and I know several other people who did the same.
There are also online shops that carry Lomos from time to time. Too often however they are "temporarily out of stock" or the prices are way too high. I have seen LC-As at these shops priced up to $275 for a serviced one! You could buy at least 2 from Ebay at that price.
